Racing career

My journey, Racing across the globe

My story starts in 2002, the year I was manufactured. ;) I grew up above the small jewelry store my grandparents owned. My parents split when I was six months old, so being raised between two families became my normal. My dad worked as a go-kart and car mechanic in the weekends at national races, which meant my weekends were naturally spend at the racetrack.

By the age of three, the paddock had become my playground. I begged to try a go-kart, and what started as a simple father–son activity quickly turned into something much bigger. I raced national karting events from the age of six, until time and resources forced us to stop when I was ten. Looking back, that period shaped me more than I realized at the time. As things became more difficult at home, motorsport became my safe place. I didn’t find school or friendships easy, but racing, and later sim racing, gave me focus and purpose. I followed the sport obsessively, learned everything I could, and treated sim racing seriously because it felt like one of the few things that truly made me happy.

At 13, I discovered I could get my Dutch racing license. I saved up, signed myself up, and passed the course as soon as I was old enough. That step changed everything. Through new connections made during that time, my mom, stepdad and I managed to put together my first real racing season in 2018 in the Ford Fiesta Sprint Cup. I was 15 years old, and together with my stepdad I spent countless nights figuring out how to convince people and companies to support my racing. Somehow, it worked. I made it to the grid, and that first season went beyond all expectations. I won most of the races, took the championship, and earned an invitation to the Porsche Benelux Junior scholarship shootout.

Winning that scholarship gave me a two-year opportunity in the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux and the belief that this dream could actually become real. I finished third in my first season and won the championship in 2020. Those years taught me what professional racing truly demands. From there, I moved into international competition in the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland, where we achieved rookie success, podiums, and wins. Alongside that, I earned my place in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. Racing on the Formula 1 support bill became a turning point in my career, I achieved strong results and victories, and proved that I could compete at the highest level of one-make racing.

That breakthrough opened the next door: moving to the United States for my first full season as a professional racing driver, while also stepping into GTWC Europe and GT3 racing. From that moment on, everything accelerated. The 2025 season became the most intense year of my career so far. I competed in over 26 race weekends across the globe, including a historic back-to-back triple header of the Spa 24 Hours, Nürburgring 24 Hours, and Le Mans 24 Hours. Finishing 3rd overall in my first Nürburgring 24 was a moment I will never forget, and a clear sign that I belonged on the big stage. By the end of the year, I was proud to be named the most successful Porsche driver of 2025 and to win the historic Porsche Cup.

Now entering my third season as a professional racing driver, I am focused on long term growth in GT racing. I believe in doing things the right way, respecting the process, and building something sustainable with the right people around me. I am not in a rush to achieve the dream I set myself when I was that kid walking in the paddock of becoming a factory driver. Because I am already doing what I love the most. Racing cars in the most competitive series around the world.
